EXPLORE MAZATLAN

Mazatlán is a vibrant City located on the Pacific Ocean on the lush Western edge of the Sierra Madre mountains. Only 30 minutes from the airport, the City offers a wide variety of attractions for travelers looking to take advantage of Mexican culture. It’s the perfect year-round seaside destination and the ideal travel portal for day trip explorations.
Mazatlán is a beautiful mix of old and new Mexico. Beautifully restored buildings are nestled between forgotten ones showcasing Mexico's deep history and charming architecture. In Centro Histórico (Old Mazatlán) 19th-century landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Ángela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception Basilica. Old Mazatlán is a photographer's paradise with multi-cultural art galleries, delicious gourmet restaurants and modern shops selling handmade artisan crafts from across the region.
You can explore Mazatlán’s 21 kilometers of sandy beaches along the Malecon which stretches from Old Mazatlán to La Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) which is known for its nightlife and is home to high-rise hotels and modern apartments. Every type of beach and ocean activity is available from big-game fishing to paragliding, whale watching and catamaran tours.
You can rent a bike and ride along the Malecon and stop at one of the many local restaurants or enjoy fresh oysters from a beach stand.
A short walk south from Casa Palencia and you will arrive at Plazuela Machado, home to a bustling City square and many charming restaurants, cafes, shops and spas.
Another short walk east and you will arrive at Mercado Pino Suarez, where locals and tourists shop for seafood, vegetables, pastries, clothing, gifts and so much more!
An easy way to explore Mazatlán is to flag down a Pulmonia (white beach buggy style taxis) or a red truck, which are inexpensive and fun ways to get around.
A quick $4 boat ride will take you to Isla de la Piedra (Stone Island) where the locals like to swim in the warm waters, walk miles along the undeveloped beach, ride ATV's or take in the views on horseback. Make sure you enjoy a beach-side margarita and a flan! You can also zip-line in the Sierra Madre mountains, take a banana boat ride on the Sea of Cortez or mountain bike and eco-tour in surrounding rural Sinaloa.
You can easily spend weeks exploring only Mazatlán or take advantage of its great location for day trips. Whether you want to golf, shop, deep-sea fish or relax in Mexican culture, Mazatlán offers it all and will not disappoint!
